Blossom.
Food. Honestly.
a few notes on our farming practices
(and the extras)
Corn Belt Vegetables
Our produce is grown with all-natural methods as we seek to obtain organic certification (a multi-year process). What you won’t find: synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or insecticides. The other thing you won’t find? A cloying sense of superiority. We use regenerative farming practices but believe most farmers are doing the best they can with what they have. Our best is this: simple food, grown locally, without the use of synthetic chemicals.
Floral Notes
Braided River Farm includes sunflowers for cutting and edible flowers like nasturtiums. Our flowers help support the pollinator populations and add beauty to your homes (and bowls of salad).
Fruits of the Earth
Several fruit trees have been planted on Braided River Farm, and strawberry plants and raspberry canes will arrive this spring. We hope to include more fruit in our offerings in the coming growing seasons!
Our Values
All Natural: Our chickens live on pasture. Happy, grass-fed chickens produce beautiful, nutritious eggs. Our produce is grown in nurtured Nebraska soil and fed with organic fertilizers. We don’t use synthetic chemicals.
Full-circle Regenerative: We make our own compost, till minimally, and use cover crops for soil improvement.
Low-Plastic: In order to reduce our non-recyclable waste, we try not to use much plastic in the first place. Some things are simply unavoidable, but when we have a choice, we opt for metal, glass, and natural fibers.
Community-Based: We live here, we love here, and we want our endeavors to feed our neighbors’ bodies and souls.
