Our Farmer

An Illinois native, Timothy moved to Nebraska in 2019 after marrying his wife, Whitney. He promptly read several books by Willa Cather, Wendell Berry, and Eliot Coleman. Timothy fell in love with Nebraska (but never stopped reminding his wife that Illinois is officially The Prairie State). Soon, an idea began to germinate.

Two years later, Braided River Farm was founded - with a mission to bring high quality, organically-raised produce to the local community.

A secondary goal was teaching Nebraskans about the great State of Illinois.

Whitney grew up on a conventional farm/ranch on the high plains of Kansas. Braided River Farm feels familiar except here, there is more rain (and trees and corn) and less wind (and dust and wheat). She currently serves as social media manager, brand marketer, IT director, recipe developer, and laundress for Braided River Farm.
